Solar-grade silicon hit $35.2 a kilogram in the week of June 22, up 2 percent from the start of the month and up 10 percent since the start of the year.  Component prices were basically flat throughout the month.

Supplies of polysilicon were disrupted after a fire at eastern Hope's Xinjiang plant on June 10 temporarily halted production.  Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimates the accident will reduce the company's annual production by 13 per cent, equivalent to a 1 per cent drop in global supply in 2022.
